Nicola has been hairdressing since 1997, beginning her career at the age of 16 as an apprentice in a local Newark salon. After gaining extensive experience and progressing into salon management roles, she opened The Hair Boutique in 2012, creating a salon just outside Newark town centre built on creativity, expertise, and exceptional client care.

A true colour specialist, Nicola is known for her love of the technical science behind hair colouring. She has trained extensively at leading academies with industry experts and takes a bespoke approach to every colour service, combining precision, creativity, and years of experience to achieve beautifully wearable results.

Nicola’s creative eye extends beyond the chair and can be seen throughout the salon — from thoughtful styling details to seasonal window displays and floral touches — creating a welcoming space where clients can relax and feel confident in expert hands.

 

Lauren- Salon Manager

Lauren- Salon Manager

Lauren has been part of The Hair Boutique team for over three years and brings more than 11 years of experience in hairdressing. An academy-trained colourist, she is passionate about creating beautiful, considered results and has progressed into the role of Salon Manager thanks to her skill, dedication, and professionalism.

Alongside her love of colour, Lauren is highly skilled in cutting and is particularly known for her exceptional blow-dries. She also has an impressive depth of hair product knowledge, taking the time to understand the technical details of each product so she can offer tailored advice to help clients maintain healthy, well-cared-for hair at home.

Behind the scenes, Lauren is renowned for her incredibly detailed colour consultation notes, ensuring every appointment is informed, consistent, and truly personalised.

Lauren is currently on maternity leave and is expected to return to the salon in winter 2026.

 

Simone

Simone

Simone has been part of The Hair Boutique for over 11 years and brings 38 years of hairdressing experience. A true perfectionist, her cutting skills are exceptional — so much so that some clients have followed her throughout her entire career.

Simone’s friendly, professional, and kind nature, combined with her humour and storytelling, makes every appointment enjoyable and keeps the salon laughing. She is an invaluable member of the team and a trusted stylist to her loyal clientele.

Simone is a self-employed stylist and works in the salon on Tuesdays and Saturdays. To book an appointment with Simone, please call the salon directly.

Leah joined The Hair Boutique after relocating from Essex, bringing nine years of hairdressing experience to the salon. A passionate and professional stylist, she specialises in colouring and cutting, with a love for the technical science behind hairdressing.

Since joining the team, Leah has flourished, expanding her skills and confidence in colour through the education and experience she has gained at the salon. She has a natural flair for hairdressing, and her creativity shines through in every style she creates. Dedicated, thorough, and full of energy, Leah ensures every client leaves feeling confident and cared for.

LAUREN IS ON MATERNITY LEAVE- FROM THE 19th of SEPTEMBER 2025

CANCELLATIONS OR NO-SHOWS

We will do our best not to cancel or re-arrange your appointments and to run to time. We really appreciate you doing the same.

OUR CANCELLATION POLICY

We understand that sometimes you may have to cancel an appointment.

Please give us at least 48 hours’ notice, otherwise a cancellation fee of the total cost of your service or treatment will be charged.

We will take your payment details and a deposit  at the time of booking an appointment with us.

It is very difficult to fill appointments at short notice, but if we do we will not charge you a cancellation fee.

If you need to cancel, please give us a call or use our online booking system.

Please don’t text, email or put a message on social media.

Failing to show for an appointment will result in the loss of your deposit and the remaining amount of your service cost will need to be paid before any future appointments can be booked. 

We do understand that unexpected situations arise, we reserve the right to waiver at our discretion. 

 

CALLING ALL NEW COLOUR CLIENTS, a colour patch test is required for all new colour clients. You must make sure you call in the salon at least 48 hours prior to your colour appointment for a free colour patch test. Failure to do so will result in losing your deposit and your appointment will therefore be cancelled.

If you've not visited us for a colour within the last 12 weeks, a new colour patch test will also need to be performed.
